First whoopies in Milan: Di Viole di Liquirizia

After macarons and cupcakes, the new fashion among the mini-cakes seems to be that of whoopies, a cake with two chocolate chip cookies and a soft filling. The name you can tell from the first bite: the exclamation of happiness is spontaneous and the etymological mystery is solved soon!
Similar in form to the macaron, England consider them new desserts that will shake the frosting of the cupcakes that, as in the dement video below, eventually crushed by the advance of whoopies coming directly from America!
And fashion is arrived also in Italy: the food-bloggers are already at work for months preparing and debating over translations from English of the recipes and reinterpretations with ingredients less fatty.
I've instead scoured the web looking for bakeries in Milan updated on this new sweet fashion, but until last week in Milan whoopies even a crumb.
Until Pina and Lucia, the adorable owners of the patisserie Di Viole di Liquirizia, seized on Facebook my ovation for the whoopies, transforming it in a pan full of chocolate chip cookies stuffed with cream! And yesterday I had the honor of tasting the first whoopies in Milan: really fabulous in all versions and toppings prepared by Pina and Lucia, from those with the chocolate filling, those with pistachio not to mention whoopies with cream cheese: all delicious! A cup of tea Casablanca Mariage Frères has accompanied my snack at Di Viole di Liquirizia, which I immediately done again at home, sacrificing the pistachio whoopy that I took for my boyfriend (which was sick and quarantined at his home)!
The recipe whoopies made by Di Viole di Liquirizia will follow shortly with a post. I just know where to find them, I'll leave the experiments of the whoopies to the food-blogger less clumsy than me!
