Milanese who loves Sweden: Mud Art Cafè

The typical Swedish common places dwell in Milan on dusty Billy libraries, among the books of the Millenium trilogy and some DVDs of the great director Ingmar Bergman. But there is a Swedish place in Milan not common at all: its name is Mud Art Café and it looks like a typical caffetteria and bistrot of Northern Europe, cosy and warm like a living room with a nice and red kitchen, just as in the enviable photos of the Ikea catalog.
Mud serves excellent Swedish food and drink: the typical sandwiches with salmon, pumpkin seeds and sweet and sour sauce (try the Lax is good!), or those with Nordic shrimp, egg and roasted sunflower seeds. There are also vegetarian sandwiches and salads, soups and dishes including those based with salmon and herring.
Do not miss the excellent cheese cake (among the best ever tasted in Milan), to accompany a cup of typical swedish filtered coffee that, in the latest film version of Men Who Hate Women by David Lynch, is present in many scenes of the film, becoming a real obsession for coffee addicted like me.
All dishes are carefully prepared by Mina, native of Stockholm, which manages Mud with her son Dafnis and both of them will entertain you in their warm and cozy place among candles, music and purely Swedish flavors which are out of stock from the usual Ikea catalog.
