I spent a good part of my university life among books, desks and stools of the Politecnico and beer mugs, tables and stools of the Birreria Lambrate (a brewery) in via Adelchi in Milan.
This brewery has been for years the meeting point of the evenings with my classmates, in a neighborhood of Milan which is poor of venues, but alive of students, who, like us, have few coins in the pockets, but a big desire to quit, at least for an evening, the heavy books of economics and math and have a beer in company! Years later my former classmates and I have gained few pounds more and the guys has lost the hair, but the Birreria Lambrate is always the same! This brewery continues to produce in-house the best beers in Milan and every day is full of people, gathered around a counter full of speeches, toasts and generous mugs of beer.

Few weeks ago, the Birreria Lambrate has opened a new spot in via Golgi (in Lambrate area) and it is already a great success! The craft beers are the same of the older Birreria, with some new addition in the list, such as the beer "Vun" (i.e. "one" in Milanese dialect).
I visited the new pub in via Golgi with the beautiful Carli blogger of Mil-Shake and together we toasted, with frothy mugs of beer, to her birthday and to our plans for life and work.
It was a very pleasant evening indeed, also thanks to the excellent dinner that was served: bretzels, wurstel plate, iron fillet and rosemary (the "Semaforo") and two slices of a chocolate cake! Everything really delicious!

The new brewery is aesthetically more like an English pub compared to the look of a pirate ship on the historical brewery in via Adelchi. Identical is, instead, the atmosphere noisily cheerful, where you'll remain astonished not only by the beer, but also by the acoustics of the place! Needless to say that you need just a beer Lambrate or Porpora (my favorite beers of the brewery) and your voice is two octaves up and you return home, on your books on your own thoughts, with a beautiful (and a bit drunk) sunshine in your heart!
