Restaurant EFF - Cucina e Stagioni

I knew I was already in love with EFF Cucina e Stagioni even before spending an evening in this great place. 
The beautiful pictures seen on internet, the look of an elegant loft and the lights of Manhattan just few steps from the crowded disco Goganda, the colors and fantasy of the food, the various reviews on the web, the idea of listening live jazz on Thursdays evening. They were all appealing strokes of an attractive and colorful paintings that could not be imprisoned for too long time between the white of the web pages and the gray of my notes. 
The infatuation remained platonic until last Thursday, when the appointment I took an appointment at EFF with my sister, Giovanni and a bag full of high hopes for this new restaurant in Milan.
The evening spent at EFF, so imagined among pixels and words, proved to be much above the expectations!
Besides the charm and atmosphere of the room (easy to guess from the pictures already seen on the web), the real surprise was offered by the dinner, with the flavors and colors of the dishes prepared with the talent and the fantasy of the chef Roberto Bellitti. A rainbow of dishes in a compact menu, based on seasonal ingredients produced by Roberto in a modern and original style.
Do not miss the excellent uovo croccante (crispy egg: a reinterpretation of an Icelandic recipe), the Moroccan bulgur, the spaghetti with mushrooms and rosemary and the duo of ice cream. Dishes that look beautiful and that taste amazingly.
The service was courteous and nice, with a hint of slowdown for the serving of the dessert (I guess to allow the preparation of the fresh dishes at the moment).
The bill is aroung 45/50 €, drinks excluded and all prices are also shown on the EFF website (click here): useful to consult the prices and to get an idea of the budget of the evening before a reservation!
Cucina e Stagione (i.e. Kitchen and Seasons) but not only! EFF is the dedication of Federico Cascinelli, the owner and creator of this beautiful restaurant, to his two children: Eleonora and Filippo, whose initials of the names form, together with the F of Federico, the restaurant's name. Three letters and a dedication.
